کے بارے میں

Bismilah Islamic School serves the Muslim children of Magomeni in Dar es Salaam, carrying in its very name the opening words with which every believing act begins. The school was founded to give the local community a dedicated place where religious instruction could sit comfortably alongside day-to-day life, and it continues to operate in that humble, community-funded spirit. Teachers at Bismilah focus first on the proper recitation of the Qur'an, starting with the short chapters of the thirtieth juz and moving on to longer passages as the pupil's tongue becomes steady. Tajweed is introduced gradually, and a portion of each session is given over to hifz for those showing interest and ability. Alongside the Qur'anic programme, children learn the pillars of iman, the details of taharah and salah, the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), and short collections of supplications for daily life. Lessons are usually delivered in Kiswahili with Arabic terms carefully explained, which helps the material settle into the pupils' everyday thinking rather than feeling like a separate compartment. The school is well regarded locally for its patient, non-harsh approach to discipline; teachers prefer encouragement and quiet correction over fear, which keeps even the younger children eager to attend. During Ramadan the atmosphere shifts noticeably, with extra recitation competitions, iftars shared among students and staff, and visits from neighbourhood elders who sit with the children and tell stories of their own early learning. Those who wish to support Bismilah are welcome to donate Qur'ans, stationery, prayer mats or a little money toward the teachers' stipends, since most families pay only a symbolic fee. For visitors passing through Magomeni, the school stands as a small but sincere expression of how Tanzanian Muslims continue to pour their energies into the next generation, brick by brick and verse by verse. Parents often remark that their children return home from Bismilah calmer and more respectful, which the teachers take not as a compliment to themselves but as evidence that the words of the Qur'an, when met with patience and sincerity, quietly reshape the character of those who approach them.
