کے بارے میں

Beside the wide avenues of Antalya on the turquoise Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey, Sehit Muhammet Oguz Kilinc Camii honours a martyr whose name the mosque carries as a living memorial. Across Turkey, sehit camileri, martyr mosques, are built by families and communities to keep alive the names of soldiers, police officers, or civilians who lost their lives in service to the homeland. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, praised the martyrs as living with their Lord and receiving sustenance directly from Him, and Turkish society treasures this noble status by attaching beloved names to lasting houses of prayer.

Antalya itself is an ancient city with a storied past. Founded in the second century before the Hijri era by King Attalus II of Pergamon, it passed through Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman rule. The thirteenth century Seljuk sultan Alaaddin Kayqubad I built the celebrated Yivli Minare Camii, whose grooved red brick minaret remains an iconic landmark. The surrounding province stretches from sunlit Mediterranean beaches up into the forested Taurus Mountains, offering a landscape of ancient ruins, hidden valleys, and waterfalls admired by visitors from every continent.

Architecturally the martyr mosque follows the classical Turkish neighbourhood style. A single pitched roof or modest dome over the main prayer hall, a slim pencil minaret from which the adhan carries across surrounding apartment blocks, green painted window frames, tile work in Iznik blues and whites around the mihrab, and a wudu area with warm water welcome worshippers from the adjoining streets. Inside, long red carpets cover the floor in neat saff rows, and a memorial plaque near the entrance records the name, birth date, and date of martyrdom of the young soldier.

Accurate daily prayer timings for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at Sehit Muhammet Oguz Kilinc Camii appear on this page, along with the Antalya address, a map pin, and hospitable notes for any visitor arriving from Kaleici old town, the Duden Waterfalls, or the ancient ruins of Aspendos and Perge. During Ramadan the courtyard hosts shared iftars of mercimek corbasi, pide, lahmacun, doner, and sweet gullac prepared by neighbouring households, and tarawih evenings fill the hall with clear Anatolian recitations. Any traveller journeying along the turquoise coast between Kemer and Side is warmly welcomed to step within these bright walls, to kneel upon the red carpets among the patient Antalyan congregation, and to whisper a soft Fatiha upon the young soul whose sweet and very brief earthly journey now quietly continues every single day upon the steady, widening, and forever rippling ocean of an ever recited prayer.
