کے بارے میں

Functioning as both a mosque and husseiniya dedicated to Imam Musa al Kadhim, may God be pleased with him, this Iraqi complex serves the Umaiyah village community near As Samawah in the Al Muthanna governorate of southern Iraq. Imam Musa al Kadhim was a revered descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, whose patient endurance under hardship and whose scholarly transmission earned him enduring respect across the Muslim world. His noble memory provides the spiritual anchor for this combined prayer and gathering space in the marshland and desert landscape of southern Iraq. Al Muthanna province stretches across the lower Euphrates region where dates palms line the river, and where desert and marsh meet along the ancient homeland of Sumerian civilisation. Iraqi southern mosque architecture blends elements of Persian influence transmitted through centuries of scholarly and commercial exchange, local Iraqi traditions of mud brick and later fired brick construction, and modern concrete work. A husseiniya serves as a gathering space particularly for commemorations during Muharram when the community recalls the events at Karbala. This combined mosque and husseiniya likely offers both daily prayer facilities and larger event space, its exterior presenting a dignified face to the village while interior spaces accommodate varied worship and community functions. Inside, carpeted prayer hall floors, a mihrab facing Makkah, and spaces for communal gatherings anchor the rhythm of religious life. Five daily prayers draw a steady core of worshippers from the village, and Jumu'ah fills the hall. Sermons in Arabic address Qur'anic themes, hadith guidance, and the ethical teachings associated with the blessed Ahl al Bayt. Ramadan brings communal iftar featuring Iraqi dishes of masgouf grilled fish, quzi lamb over rice, kubba, and sweet baklava, alongside taraweeh prayers. Muharram observances draw particular attention with commemorative gatherings, poetry recitation, and distribution of food and drink to all who attend. Qur'anic memorisation circles serve village children. Women worship in a dedicated section. Nearby attractions include the Tigris and Euphrates confluence, the marsh landscapes of southern Iraq where Madan communities preserve ancient traditions, and the historic city of Samawah.
