کے بارے میں

Named for the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and known locally as Masjid al Nabi Qala'a, this complex in the Bahar area of Hamadan province in western Iran combines the main mosque with a dedicated ceremonial hall named for Hazrat Abu al Fadl al Abbas, peace be upon him, bearer of the banner at Karbala. The addition of a ceremonial hall reflects the devotional practices of the community in holding majalis gatherings during Muharram and other significant moments of the religious calendar. Hamadan province lies in the Zagros mountains of western Iran, a region whose history reaches back thousands of years to the ancient Medes and whose Islamic heritage includes the tomb of the great philosopher and physician Abu Ali Sina, known in Europe as Avicenna, whose works shaped medieval learning across three continents. Iranian mosque architecture carries one of the richest traditions in the Islamic world, combining glazed tile work in turquoise, cobalt, and white, muqarnas vaulted entries, broad iwan portals, and domed prayer halls whose acoustics amplify the reciter's voice. This mosque and ceremonial hall draws on that tradition at a community scale, with tiled decoration, a carpeted prayer hall, a mihrab niche surrounded by delicate inscriptions, and a dignified ceremonial hall for gatherings. Five daily prayers gather neighbourhood worshippers, and Jumu'ah fills the hall with larger numbers. Sermons in Persian draw from Qur'anic ayaat, hadith, and the recorded teachings of the Imams of the Ahl al Bayt, peace be upon them. Ramadan transforms the calendar with communal iftar meals of ash e reshteh, zoolbia bamieh, and aromatic rice dishes. The month of Muharram brings especially intense programmes of commemoration including noha and marthiya recitations in the ceremonial hall. Qur'anic memorisation classes meet through the year. Women participate fully in cultural and religious programmes. Nearby attractions include the tomb of Avicenna, the Ganjnameh rock inscriptions, the Alisadr caves, and the traditional bazaars of Hamadan city whose copper work and local foods continue attracting travellers from across Iran and beyond. Muharram gatherings in the ceremonial hall draw large crowds for noha and marthiya recitations that keep alive a devotional tradition whose emotional power continues resonating deeply within Iranian religious experience.
