The imam is respected locally for his patient teaching style, and the weekly Qur'an tafsir circle after Maghrib draws attendees who come with notebooks and questions. The mosque runs kelas mengaji for children, a weekend ceramah series, and during Ramadan arranges communal iftar funded partly by donations from the longer-standing businesses on the street.
