کے بارے میں
In the town of Jerantut in Pahang, Malaysia, the Masjid Bandar Jengka bears the formal title of Masjid al Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin al Mustafa Billah Shah, honouring the current Sultan of Pahang whose reign has patronised religious, educational and humanitarian initiatives across the state. Pahang is the largest state on the peninsula, a land of dense rainforest, the great Taman Negara reserve, tin and rubber estates, and the winding Pahang River whose banks gave rise to many of the oldest Malay settlements. Jerantut, at the gateway to the national park, is a commercial town whose Muslim community includes Malay rice farmers, Orang Asli converts, traders and government officials. The mosque commands a prominent site along the main road, its gleaming white walls topped by a central onion dome and four minor domes, with a pair of tall minarets reaching skyward as daily landmarks. Architecturally it blends Malay elements such as tiered verandas and carved timber screens with Ottoman influenced domes and generous marble cladding, reflecting the modern aesthetic favoured across royal Malaysian mosques. Inside, the carpeted hall spreads beneath chandeliers imported from the Gulf, the qibla wall is dressed with marble panels carved with verses of Surah Ya Sin, and the mimbar is of richly lacquered chengal hardwood. Five daily prayers draw a steady stream of worshippers, while Jumu'ah brings a capacity congregation for khutbah in Bahasa Malaysia with Arabic recitation. Ramadan evenings feature bubur lambuk distributed free, tarawih prayers led by royal imams and Qur'an circles. Eid mornings see the forecourt alive with families in batik and songkok, exchanging greetings with the district imam. Visitors exploring central Pahang can pair the mosque with a trip to Kuala Tahan, the jungle lodges of Taman Negara and the limestone caves of Gua Charas. The annual khatm al Qur'an ceremony held in the closing ten nights of Ramadan gathers thousands from across Pahang, including royal representatives from Pekan, religious officials from Kuantan and ordinary villagers from the surrounding Jerantut district. A dedicated children's pondok programme runs throughout the school holidays, training young memorisers in tajwid and the memorisation of Juz Amma with the aid of experienced ustadh. The generosity of the sultanate extends to free transportation for elderly residents, ensuring that every worshipper can attend Friday prayers regardless of age.
