کے بارے میں

Serving the Khor Maksar district of the port city of Aden in southern Yemen, Masjid Abdullah ibn Umar al Shuqa honours one of the most learned of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Aden itself is among the oldest inhabited cities on the Arabian Peninsula, mentioned in medieval geographies under names such as Adan Abyan. Its natural harbour, cradled inside the crater of an extinct volcano, has welcomed Muslim mariners, Indian Ocean traders, and scholars from Hadramawt and the Indian subcontinent for more than a millennium. The mosque bears the name of Abdullah ibn Umar (may God be pleased with him), the son of the second caliph, a young companion who spent decades carefully preserving the sayings and practices of the Messenger. Scholars across every scholarship cite his reports with respect, and generations of Yemeni students have memorised his narrations while sitting cross legged on reed mats in mosques very much like this one. Naming the masjid after him invites every worshipper to follow his careful attentiveness to the Sunnah. The building reflects the practical architecture of modern Aden. Whitewashed walls reflect the fierce coastal sunlight, green painted shutters open to the humid sea breeze, and a compact minaret carries the adhan over the busy streets of Khor Maksar that curve between the old Royal Air Force base and the causeway to Crater. Inside, ceiling fans spin above simple carpets laid in long straight rows, and a modest mihrab points across the Red Sea toward the holy city of Makkah a thousand kilometres to the north west. Reliable daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at Masjid Abdullah ibn Umar in Khor Maksar are provided here, along with the address, a clear map pin, and notes helpful to residents of Aden, seafarers docking in the harbour, and travellers making their way along the coast road to Mukalla and Hadramawt. Khor Maksar is famed for its long beaches, its date palms, and the salt flats that glimmer pink at sunset, and worshippers often walk down to the seafront after Maghrib to sit with families over fresh grilled fish. Every visitor to this masjid is welcomed with Yemeni warmth that has never faltered despite difficult years.
