کے بارے میں
Honouring the Seal of the Prophets, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, this Jame Mosque in Khomeyni Shahr within Isfahan province carries the title Khatam al Anbiya meaning the last and final prophet whose message completed the long line of divine revelation sent to humanity. The name expresses the central Islamic belief that Muhammad was the final messenger whose revelation the Qur'an represents the definitive guidance for all peoples and times. Khomeyni Shahr developed as an industrial and educational suburb of the great historic city of Isfahan, whose blue domed mosques and vast royal square have made it one of the great architectural treasures of the Islamic world. Isfahan served as capital of the Safavid empire during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and flourished with an extraordinary programme of mosque and palace construction that included the Shah Mosque, the Lotfollah Mosque, and the Ali Qapu palace on the Naqsh e Jahan square. Iranian mosque architecture represents one of the most refined traditions in the world, featuring iwan portals, tile work in turquoise and cobalt, muqarnas vaulting, domes crowned with decorated tile, and minarets rising in pairs. This Khatam al Anbiya mosque likely employs contemporary interpretations of these traditions. Inside, carpeted prayer hall floors accommodate worshippers across dedicated men's and women's sections, with a mihrab decorated with tile work or calligraphy, a wooden minbar, and Qur'anic inscriptions along the upper walls. Five daily prayers gather worshippers from surrounding streets, and Jumu'ah fills the hall. Sermons in Farsi incorporate Qur'anic passages recited in Arabic with reflection in the local language. Ramadan transforms the calendar with communal iftar featuring Iranian dishes of ash reshteh noodle soup, saffron rice, koresh stews, doogh yogurt drink, and sweet sholeh zard rice pudding, alongside taraweeh prayers. The imam works through the Qur'an across the month. Qur'anic memorisation classes for children run year round. Women worship in dedicated sections. Eid prayers draw large congregations. Nearby Isfahan landmarks include the Naqsh e Jahan square, the Jameh mosque with its ancient hypostyle hall, the Khaju and Si o Se Pol bridges, and the Armenian quarter at Jolfa.
