کے بارے میں
Dedicated to Imam al Husayn, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and the beloved son of Fatimah al Zahra alongside Ali ibn Abi Talib (the Almighty's favour upon him) with them, this masjid and cultural centre in Khondab serves the spiritual and communal needs of residents in the Markazi province of Iran. The title Abi Abdullah al Husayn evokes the kunya by which the imam is known, and the designation of the centre as a kanoon farhangi, meaning cultural foundation, reflects the Iranian tradition of weaving together ritual worship, educational activity, literary programming, and community services under a single institutional roof. The mourning and commemoration of Imam al Husayn during the month of Muharram, particularly on the day of Ashura, forms a central pillar of Iranian Islamic spirituality, with majalis, lamentations, poetry recitals, and processions marking the sacrifice at Karbala in the year 61 of the hijrah. Khondab itself sits amid the fertile plains of central Iran, its economy sustained by agriculture and its population carrying the warm hospitality characteristic of Iranian provincial towns. Architecturally the masjid reflects the Iranian idiom, a main prayer hall with a turquoise tiled dome, a tall minaret decorated with Qur'anic calligraphy, an arcaded courtyard bordered by shaded iwan portals, and interior surfaces adorned with painted tiles featuring stylised flowers and geometric patterns. The mihrab bears calligraphy invoking the Ahl al Bayt, the carpets are woven in the deep reds and blues of central Iranian workshops, and the mimbar is of polished walnut. Daily prayers and Jumu'ah gather the local faithful, while Muharram and Safar bring extended majalis with recitations by trained maddahs and processions through the surrounding streets. Ramadan sees shared iftars featuring Iranian specialities such as ash reshteh, kuku sabzi, halim, zulbia, and bamieh. Nawruz brings Quranic recitations for the new year. Visitors exploring Arak, the main urban centre of the province, or travelling onward to Qom will find Khondab a window onto quieter rural Iranian Islamic life. The masjid and cultural centre continue to serve as a meaningful anchor of religious and communal life in the Markazi province, its activities preserving and transmitting Iranian devotional traditions whose depth, beauty, and distinctive sensibility have enriched the wider Islamic world for more than a thousand years.
