کے بارے میں
Named for Qaim Al Muhammad peace be upon them, this Iranian mosque in Komijan within Markazi province functions alongside a cultural and artistic centre dedicated to Professor Murtaza Mutahhari, the great twentieth century Iranian scholar and philosopher whose writings on Islamic philosophy, history, and social ethics have influenced generations of students across the Muslim world. Mutahhari was assassinated in 1979 shortly after the Iranian revolution, and his memory is honoured across the country through institutions bearing his name. Komijan town occupies a position in central Iranian Markazi province among the agricultural landscapes and small industrial enterprises that sustain provincial life. The region's Islamic heritage reflects centuries of continuous religious practice and scholarship, with mosques, husseiniyas, and religious schools forming part of the everyday rhythm of Iranian community life. The mosque's dedication to Qaim Al Muhammad connects worshippers to the messianic tradition of Islam that awaits the reappearance of the promised descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, whose arrival will establish justice on the earth at the end of time. Iranian mosque architecture represents one of the great traditions of Islamic civilisation, featuring iwan portals, tile work in turquoise and cobalt blues, muqarnas vaulting, domes crowned with decorated tile or gilt, and the combination of prayer halls with shaded courtyards. This Qaim Al Muhammad mosque likely employs contemporary interpretations of these traditions alongside regional provincial styles. Inside, carpeted prayer hall floors accommodate worshippers across dedicated men's and women's sections, with a mihrab decorated with tile work or calligraphy, a wooden minbar, and Qur'anic inscriptions along the upper walls. Five daily prayers gather worshippers, and Jumu'ah fills the hall. Sermons in Farsi incorporate Qur'anic passages recited in classical Arabic with reflection in the local language. Ramadan brings communal iftar featuring Iranian dishes including ash soup with herbs and noodles, saffron rice, koresh stews, and sweet shole zard. The Mutahhari cultural centre hosts programmes in philosophy lectures, Qur'anic recitation training, calligraphy, and youth activities. Women worship in dedicated sections. Nearby attractions include the Markazi province agricultural landscapes and the historic monuments of central Iran.
