کے بارے میں

Quba Mosque (Masjid Quba) in Medina is the first mosque in the history of Islam, established by the Prophet Muhammad himself in 622 CE on the day he arrived in the village of Quba on the outskirts of Medina during the Hijra (migration) from Mecca. The mosque is referenced directly in the Qur'an in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 108, which describes it as a mosque "founded on righteousness from the very first day," and praying within it carries special spiritual significance — the Prophet stated that prayer at Quba is equivalent in reward to performing an Umrah (the lesser pilgrimage). The original modest structure built by the Prophet has been replaced and rebuilt many times over the fourteen centuries since, most recently in the dramatic Saudi expansion of the 1980s under King Fahd, which transformed it into a substantial complex with four minarets and capacity for approximately twenty thousand worshippers across multiple prayer halls and the surrounding courtyards. The mosque is located approximately six kilometres south of the Prophet's Mosque in central Medina and is regularly visited by pilgrims who travel to Medina either as part of their Hajj or Umrah journeys or independently, with many making a deliberate effort to perform at least one prayer there in fulfilment of the Prophetic recommendation.
