کے بارے میں

Situated within the Kircagiz neighbourhood of Milas in the Mugla province of southwestern Turkey along the Aegean coast, the Bilali Habesi Camii bears the noble name of Bilal al Habashi, may God be pleased with him, the Ethiopian companion of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, whose voice called the first adhans of Islam and whose endurance through persecution in Mecca earned him the eternal love of Muslims across every continent. Milas, known in antiquity as Mylasa, was a city of Caria whose ancient temple of Zeus once attracted pilgrims from across the eastern Mediterranean, and it later passed through Byzantine, Menteshid, and Ottoman hands before becoming part of the Turkish Republic. Today the region flourishes with olive groves, marble quarries, pine forests, and coastal tourism that connects Bodrum with the inland highlands. Architecturally the mosque follows the modern Turkish civic idiom with Ottoman classical accents, featuring a central dome on an octagonal drum, a slender pencil minaret whose balcony carries the adhan across the neighbourhood, a portico of granite columns, and a courtyard shaded by cypress and pomegranate trees. Inside, the mihrab and minbar are wrought in Mugla white marble, and the carpet is rich green patterned with mihrab arches. Daily prayers gather retirees, shopkeepers, farmers, and marble quarry workers who live within walking distance, and the Friday khutbah is delivered in Turkish treating themes of endurance, justice, and the equality of all believers beneath the eyes of God, reflecting the legacy of Bilal himself. Ramadan brings communal iftars of lentil soup, pide bread, olives and cheese, kebabs, and sweet kunefe topped with kaymak cream. Taraweeh is led with melodious recitation by a resident hafiz. The two Eids bring families in fresh garments to embrace and exchange greetings. Travellers can combine the visit with the Labranda sanctuary, the Becin Castle ruins, the Gumusluk fishing harbour, and the Bodrum Castle by the Aegean shore along charming olive shaded winding country roads. A small madrasah adjacent to the mosque teaches children Quranic memorisation, Arabic grammar, and classical Ottoman calligraphy, connecting young people to centuries of Anatolian spiritual heritage. Weekly tafsir circles taught by a qualified imam draw elders from surrounding neighbourhoods. The mosque committee arranges summer outings for children to nearby beaches and the Labranda archaeological site, integrating religious education with appreciation of local history. Charitable programmes distribute olive oil from the community's own groves to needy families, reflecting the deep Aegean tradition of practical hospitality rooted in the agricultural rhythms of this enchanted Mediterranean coastland throughout every season.
