Within the eastern Moroccan city of Oujda, near the Algerian frontier, Mosquee Aicha Umm al Mu'minin honours Aisha, the beloved daughter of Abu Bakr al Siddiq and the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, may God be pleased with her and with her father, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. Aisha is remembered for her sharp intellect, her deep knowledge of fiqh and tafsir, her narration of more than two thousand hadith, and her teaching of both women and men in the years following the passing of the Prophet.
