کے بارے میں

Nestled within the winding alleys of the old city of Sanaa, the fabled capital of Yemen and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on earth, Jami al Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib honours the fourth rightly guided caliph, Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him. Ali was the cousin and son in law of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, raised in the Prophet's own household, the first young man to embrace Islam, and the husband of the noble Fatima al Zahra, mother of Hasan and Husayn. His courage at Badr, Uhud, and Khaybar, his scholarship in Qur'anic exegesis, and his eloquent khutbahs have inspired generations of believers.

Sanaa's Islamic heritage reaches back to the first decades of the faith. The Prophet sent Ali and Muadh ibn Jabal, may God be pleased with them, to teach in Yemen, and its people embraced Islam with such warmth that the Prophet praised them saying, faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni. The great mosque of Sanaa, built during the Prophet's lifetime at his instruction, remains one of the oldest in the Muslim world, and the mud brick tower houses of the old city form a UNESCO world heritage site that still rings with the adhan five times daily.

Architecturally the mosque follows the distinctive Sanaani style. Walls of pale sabres mud brick with patterns of white gypsum trim, tall latticed windows of coloured glass called qamariya, a small central dome, and a slender minaret rise from the dense urban fabric of the old city. Inside, woven reed mats and patterned carpets cover the floor, and calligraphic panels cite verses praising the companions.

Accurate daily prayer timings for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at Jami al Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib appear on this page along with the Sanaa address, a map pin, and respectful notes for any visitor approaching from Bab al Yaman, the Saleh Mosque, or the mountain road toward Jibla. During Ramadan neighbours share simple iftars of bint al sahn, saltah, aseed, fresh honey, and sweet fatta prepared by households, and tarawih evenings fill the hall with voices shaped by the venerable Yemeni school of recitation. Any traveller who reaches this storied city is warmly invited to step within these ancient walls, to kneel upon the reed mats among the patient Sanaani congregation, and to whisper a soft salam upon Ali, upon his sons Hasan and Husayn, and upon every steadfast Yemeni grandmother whose patient pot of sweet black tea still blesses a tired traveller beside a cracked clay hearth beneath the tall, silent, and gently watching mud brick towers.
