کے بارے میں
Within a quiet neighbourhood of Shazand in Markazi Province of central Iran, the masjid honouring Imam Reza, peace be upon him and his family, and the cultural centre of Abasaleh al Mahdi, gathers residents for daily prayer and for the long tradition of Iranian religious remembrance. The name Imam Reza recalls Ali ibn Musa al Reza, may God be pleased with him, the eighth of the twelve imams revered in the Iranian religious tradition and the only one buried within the present borders of Iran. His tomb in Mashhad is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the entire Muslim world, and every Iranian community preserves a particular affection for his memory, his compassion, his learning, and his quiet courage.
Shazand lies on the high plateau of central Iran, at more than 1700 metres elevation, in a landscape of wheat fields, orchards, and distant snow capped mountains. The town rose to wider national recognition during the twentieth century as the home of an important oil refinery and a growing petrochemical industry, which brought workers and their families from many parts of Iran. Neighbourhood mosques and cultural centres like this one serve the devotional needs of those families, while also acting as small cultural institutions that organise lectures, poetry readings, and youth programmes.
The building combines a traditional Iranian prayer hall with modern community facilities. A turquoise tiled dome rises above the mihrab, a single minaret stands beside the entrance, and a large courtyard shaded by plane trees welcomes worshippers and visitors. Inside, Persian carpets in deep red and cream cover the floor, a finely decorated mihrab marks the qiblah, and a raised wooden minbar is used for Friday sermons. During Muharram the building is draped in black banners, mourners gather for majalis of recitation and elegies, and volunteers prepare food for distribution in honour of Imam Husayn, may God be pleased with him.
On this page, accurate daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at the Imam Reza mosque in Shazand are provided, together with its address, a location map, and notes that help residents of the town, students at nearby schools, travellers on the Tehran to Khorramabad road, and pilgrims journeying to Mashhad, to attend congregational worship here and to share in the devotional life of a community whose patient love for the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and for the people of his household, shines through every gathering.
