کے بارے میں
Amir al Muminin, the commander of the faithful, is the honorific most closely associated with Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, cousin and son in law of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, whom the Muslim world honours as the fourth rightly guided caliph and whose tomb in Najaf draws pilgrims from across the planet. The Shazand town in Markazi province of central Iran preserves a neighbourhood mosque carrying this venerable title, twinned with a cultural centre, the kanoon farhangi, which hosts lectures, Qur'anic teaching circles and youth programmes alongside the five daily prayers. Shazand itself lies among the foothills of the central Iranian plateau, its fields producing wheat, barley and apple orchards. Iran's Islamic heritage is ancient and profound, reaching back to the conquests of the companions of the Prophet and flowering through the intellectual life of Khorasan, the Buyid and Seljuk courts, the Ilkhanid patronage of the Rashidiyya quarter of Tabriz and the Safavid revival that made Isfahan the centre of the Muslim world during the seventeenth century. Architecturally the building combines a central prayer hall roofed by a single dome rendered in cream plaster with a pair of slender minarets finished in turquoise tile in the provincial echoes of the Isfahani tradition. Inside, the mihrab is framed by kashi tile work in cobalt, white and sulphur yellow, the mimbar rises in three walnut steps and the carpet is woven in characteristic Markazi red with geometric medallions. Daily prayers gather villagers and commuters, the Jumu'ah sermon is delivered in Persian with Arabic recitation and Muharram brings nightly remembrance of the tragedy of Karbala with elegiac poetry in Persian and Arabic. Ramadan nights bring iftar of aush, koofteh, dates and warm non bread. Eid ceremonies fill the forecourt with families in their best woollen suits, embroidered chador and children clutching small gifts. Visitors should dress modestly, leave shoes on the low wooden shelves and accept the customary glass of black tea poured by the caretaker from the courtyard samavar beneath the plane trees whose leaves glow yellow through each Shazand autumn.
