کے بارے میں

Among the residential streets of Shazand in Markazi Province of central Iran, the mosque honouring Hazrat Abu al Fadl al Abbas, peace be upon him and his family, and the cultural centre of the martyrs of Qa'idan, offers the neighbourhood a house of prayer that weaves together devotion and local memory. The masjid's name recalls Abu al Fadl al Abbas ibn Ali, the valiant half brother of Imam Husayn, may God be pleased with them, who stood with him at Karbala in the year 680 and gave his life attempting to bring water to the thirsting children of the Prophet's household. His courage and loyalty remain an image of selfless service across the Muslim world, and especially in Iran where his name is spoken with deep affection.

Qa'idan, whose martyrs are remembered in the cultural centre attached to the mosque, refers to a local village or quarter whose young men fell during the difficult years of the Iran Iraq war between 1980 and 1988. The Iranian custom of naming cultural centres after local martyrs knits the sacrifices of the twentieth century into the living memory of the community, so that younger generations grow up hearing, alongside the stories of Karbala, the stories of neighbours whose photographs look down from walls decorated with tulip banners.

Shazand lies on the high plateau of central Iran at more than 1700 metres elevation, near mountains whose snows feed the rivers that water the orchards and grain fields of Markazi Province. The mosque itself is built in a warm provincial Iranian style. A small blue tiled dome rises above the prayer hall, a modest mihrab decorated with tilework in floral patterns marks the qiblah, a raised wooden minbar stands beside it, and persian carpets in soft red and cream cover the floor. During Muharram the building fills with mourners reciting nawha, and in Ramadan the courtyard hosts nightly gatherings for iftar and supplication.

On this page visitors will find accurate daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at the masjid of Hazrat Abu al Fadl in Shazand, along with its location, a map, and notes that help local residents, students at nearby schools, travellers on the Tehran to Khorramabad road, and relatives visiting from Arak and other towns of Markazi, to attend congregational worship and join in the remembrance events held here throughout the year with calm reverence.
