کے بارے میں

Overlooking the town of Shazand in the Markazi province of central Iran, the Mosque of Hazrat Abu al Fadl and the Cultural Centre of the Imam's Devotees honours Abu al Fadl al Abbas ibn Ali, upon whom be peace, the valiant brother of Imam Husayn ibn Ali, upon whom be peace, who fell at Karbala in the year 680 of the common era while attempting to bring water to the besieged camp of the Prophet's household. Abu al Fadl, often invoked simply as al Abbas, is remembered across Iran and the Islamic world for his loyalty, courage, and selfless service, and mosques named after him serve as centres for the annual mourning ceremonies of Muharram.

Shazand, near the city of Arak, sits on the Qom to Khorramabad road amid fields of wheat, alfalfa, and saffron, and is known regionally for its oil refinery and for the quiet Persian piety of its rural neighbourhoods. The Markazi province carries a long religious heritage, with the holy city of Qom to the east and the seminaries of Hamadan to the west, and its villages have long supplied students to the madrasas of the Iranian highlands. The Cultural Centre of the Devotees of the Imam, known in Persian as Kanun Farhangi Muridan Imam, adds to the mosque's devotional work a programme of youth activities, library services, and preparatory classes for the seminaries.

Architecturally the building follows the modest Iranian provincial mosque idiom: a plastered brick prayer hall under a low blue tiled dome, a single slender minaret crowned with muqarnas, and a walled courtyard with a central pool for ablution. Tilework in deep turquoise and cobalt frames the entrance iwan, carrying Persian verses of the Qur'an and salutations sent to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and his household. Inside, the sanctuary is spread beneath patterned Kashan carpet, the mihrab tiled in floral arabesques, and the minbar carved in walnut.

Daily prayers, weekly Quran classes, Ramadan iftar, and the mourning processions of Muharram and Safar fill the mosque's year with gatherings where the memory of al Abbas is renewed in every recitation, tear, and whispered salutation beneath the gentle central Iranian sky.
