کے بارے میں

Masjid Ar - Rahman in Skudai, Johor, takes its name from Ar-Rahman — the Most Merciful — one of the most frequently invoked names of Allah, appearing at the beginning of every sura of the Qur'an except one, in the phrase Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim. The name expresses Allah's boundless, universal mercy extended to all creation, and a mosque bearing the name Ar-Rahman invites worshippers to seek and reflect that mercy in their own hearts and conduct. The mosque serves the Skudai community with the full range of Malaysian mosque services: daily prayers, Friday jumu'ah, weekend religious education, tahfiz programmes, women's halaqat, ceramah, and seasonal programming around Ramadan and the Eids. The building is substantial, reflecting its role as a full mosque, with a central dome, a minaret, a wide courtyard, a well-appointed prayer hall with carpet, mihrab, and minbar, and a separate women's section with its own facilities. The imam leads the daily prayers, delivers the Friday khutbah, and officiates at the significant life events of the community — nikah, aqiqah, janazah. The mosque committee handles the practical affairs of the building and the community's religious and charitable activities, including the collection and distribution of zakat and sadaqah. Religious education is active: kelas mengaji for children, a tahfiz programme for those wishing to memorise the Qur'an, women's halaqat for religious study, and regular ceramah by visiting ustadh. During Ramadan, the mosque is vibrant with taraweeh every night, communal iftar meals, a programme of tausiyah and tafsir sessions, and the particular spiritual focus of the last ten nights. Eid prayers fill the hall and spill into the courtyard, with families in new clothes and the takbir ringing from the loudspeaker from dawn. The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said that Allah's mercy precedes His wrath, and Masjid Ar-Rahman quietly lives out that theological truth in the daily offering of mercy — through its hospitality, its religious education, its support for the community's needy, and its consistent welcome to all who come seeking to pray. On particularly cold monsoon evenings the imam keeps a thermos of hot chocolate in the small side room for the children who arrive early for mengaji, a gesture of kindness that has long outlasted the original imam who started it.
