کے بارے میں

Surau Al-Husna in Skudai, Johor, bears a name drawn from the divine names — Asma al-Husna, "the most beautiful names" of Allah — the ninety-nine names through which Muslims know and praise their Lord. Naming a surau Al-Husna connects it directly to the practice of dhikr — the remembrance of Allah through His beautiful names — which is one of the central spiritual disciplines of Islamic tradition. The surau serves its immediate kariah in the Skudai township of Johor, offering daily prayers, weekend religious education, women's programming, and seasonal religious activity. Skudai has developed rapidly from a small settlement into a substantial township, home to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the many residential and commercial developments that have sprung up around it, and the surau reflects the character of its residents — educated, middle-class, actively engaged in religious community life. The building is modest but carefully maintained, with a prayer hall, a women's section, wudu facilities, and a verandah. Daily prayers bring the regulars of the kariah, and the Friday jumu'ah is held at one of the larger mosques in the area. Weekend Qur'an classes for children run in the afternoons, with volunteer teachers from within the community. The women's halaqa meets weekly, often with particular attention to the Asma al-Husna given the surau's name, with members studying and memorising the divine names and reflecting on their meanings. Ramadan brings the full intensification of religious life: taraweeh every night, iftar organised by family rotations, tausiyah sessions between Maghrib and Isha, and the particular spiritual focus of the final ten nights. The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم taught that Allah has ninety-nine names — whoever understands them and counts them will enter Paradise. A surau bearing the name Al-Husna quietly supports its worshippers in pursuing that goal, one name at a time, one prayer at a time, one quiet moment of remembrance at a time, in the faithful rhythm of daily worship. The calligraphy of the ninety-nine names adorning the walls of the surau was hand-written by a local retired art teacher, each name in a slightly different style, and visitors sometimes spend an entire afternoon reading along them one by one.
