کے بارے میں

Among the ancient hillside neighbourhoods of Ta'izz in southern Yemen, Masjid Ali bin Hamad al Raml al Manai honours a respected local benefactor whose family name is known across the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula for its piety, trade, and support of religious institutions. Ta'izz itself is one of the most storied cities of Yemen, set on the slopes of Jabal Sabir, a city of mist, terraced agriculture, coffee plantations, and sustained scholarly activity reaching back more than a thousand years. The Rasulid sultans who ruled Yemen from the thirteenth through the fifteenth centuries made Ta'izz their capital, building great madrasas, mosques, and libraries whose stone arches still shape the skyline today.
The al Manai family is associated with the wider Gulf region and with Qatar in particular, and dedicating a mosque in Ta'izz reflects the long standing ties that bind Yemen to the Gulf Arab states through trade, marriage, scholarship, and religious patronage. Yemeni scholars have taught in the Hijaz, the Gulf, and as far afield as Southeast Asia for centuries, while Yemeni migrants in the Gulf have often returned their prosperity to the homeland through endowed mosques, water wells, orphan sponsorships, and Qur'an memorisation centres. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, praised the people of Yemen for their gentle faith and deep wisdom, and mosques such as this one continue to draw on that prophetic approval.
Yemeni highland mosques typically feature thick stone walls to temper the mountain winters, simple square minarets, flat roofs, and carved wooden doors whose patterns echo the craftsmanship of medieval Taizi workshops. Inside, the prayer hall is cooled by tall windows catching the mountain breezes, patterned carpets cover the floor, and the mihrab carries modest calligraphy invoking God's beautiful names. Friday sermons often address patience through hardship, the dignity of honest work, and solidarity with fellow Yemenis across the long years of conflict the country has endured. Ramadan brings warm collective iftars of saltah, bint al sahn, and sweet qishr coffee. Accurate daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at this mosque in Ta'izz are posted on this page for every resident and visitor.
