کے بارے میں

Rising in the desert town of Tumayr within the Ar Riyadh region of Saudi Arabia, the Mosque of Shaykh Abdulaziz ibn Muhammad ibn Qudayb honours a respected local scholar whose family has long served the religious life of the surrounding communities. Tumayr lies along an old caravan route northwest of the capital city Riyadh, in a landscape of low sandstone hills, wadis, and scattered date palm gardens where Najdi families have practised Islam for many generations. The town's rhythm follows the ancient pattern of dawn prayer before the heat, afternoon rest in the shade, and long evenings of conversation beneath star lit desert skies.

Naming a mosque after a local shaykh is a long standing Najdi custom that preserves the memory of teachers whose quiet service shaped the faith of an entire district. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, taught that the ink of the scholar is more blessed than the blood of the martyr, and the Companions, may God be pleased with them, preserved the sayings of their teachers with extraordinary care. Every masjid bearing a scholar's name reminds the visitor that knowledge, humility, and steady service are the true inheritance of the Muslim community across every land and age.

Architecturally, the mosque follows the traditional Najdi style. Thick walls of pale stone and plaster temper the ferocious summer heat, a modest square minaret rises beside the prayer hall, small arched windows and wooden grilles filter the harsh desert light, and the interior is carpeted in deep green or red with a mihrab of carved plaster facing the qiblah. A shaded courtyard offers space for ablution and quiet reflection between prayers.

Farmers from the date palm gardens, government workers commuting to Riyadh, Bedouin families passing through on the desert road, and local students of Qur'an memorisation gather here for the five daily prayers and for Jumu'ah. During Ramadan the community shares iftar meals of dates, laban, and rice at long cloths spread on the mosque carpets. On this page visitors to Tumayr and travellers crossing the Ar Riyadh region will find the current prayer times, address, and helpful notes to aid every guest in locating this welcoming Najdi masjid and sharing in its devoted, generous, and deeply rooted rhythm of desert Islamic life year round.
