کے بارے میں

Masjid As-Sobirin in Ulu Tiram, Johor, bears a name drawn from the Qur'anic description of the patient ones — as-sabirin — those praised repeatedly in the Qur'an for enduring with steadfast faith through trials and difficulties. Sabr, or patient perseverance, is one of the core virtues of Islamic spirituality, extolled in hadith and Qur'an as a quality that earns immense divine reward. To name a mosque As-Sobirin is to honour this virtue and to invite worshippers to cultivate it in their own lives. The mosque serves the Ulu Tiram community with the full range of Malaysian mosque services: daily prayers, Friday jumu'ah, weekend religious education, women's programming, tahfiz classes, ceramah, and seasonal programming around Ramadan and the Eids. The building reflects the Malaysian mosque aesthetic, with a central dome, a minaret, a wide courtyard, a well-appointed prayer hall, and a separate women's section with its own entrance and facilities. The imam leads the daily prayers, delivers Friday khutbahs that often touch on the theme of patience in the face of life's trials, and officiates at the significant life events of the community. The mosque committee handles the practical affairs and the programme of religious education and charitable activity. Children attend kelas mengaji in the afternoons, learning Arabic, Qur'an recitation, and Islamic basics. Women's programming includes weekly halaqat, monthly tahlil gatherings, and Ramadan iftar organisation. During Ramadan, the mosque is vibrant with taraweeh every night, communal iftar, a programme of tausiyah and tafsir sessions, and the particular spiritual focus of the last ten nights. Eid prayers draw the community's families, and the khutbah connects the joy of Eid to the patience that made it possible — the full month of Ramadan fasting. The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said that sabr is half of faith, and a mosque bearing the name As-Sobirin carries that teaching into the daily life of its community, quietly reminding worshippers that the trials of their lives are opportunities to embody the virtue that the mosque's name honours. The old wall clock above the mihrab has been slightly off time for as long as anyone can remember, and yet it has never been replaced, serving as a kind of running joke among the regulars about the true owner of time itself.
