Abdulhadi Kurtuluş Merkez Camii is one of the central mosques of the Kurtuluş neighbourhood in Çankaya, central Ankara, and bears the name of Abdulhadi, a personal name meaning 'servant of the Guide' — one of the beautiful divine names of God. Kurtuluş itself means 'liberation' or 'salvation' in Turkish and is a common district name across Turkey, often used in reference to the War of Independence and the founding of the Republic. The juxtaposition of the two names — one theological, one historical — is itself characteristic of the layered meanings that Turkish mosques often carry. The building is a substantial Merkez Camii of modern construction, with twin slim minarets flanking a central dome, a broad stone-paved courtyard, and a carefully finished interior.
